Ben Bridge: Spring 2023 Campaign

The Challenge

With each season, Ben Bridge creates new window displays that influence the look and feel of their corresponding advertisements and collateral. In Spring 2023, they approached Huck Yeah with the idea of carrying over their mid-century modern theme from Valentine's Day into a Spring campaign that celebrates motherhood and invites viewers to shop with Ben Bridge for Mother's Day gifting.

The Solution

Working within the client's specifications for the campaign, we landed on a concept that, on a surface level, welcomes Spring with bright florals and playful shapes, and on a deeper level, represents the growth and beauty that comes with motherhood. Once landing on a direction for the window displays, we used the graphics created to carry pops of illustrative botanicals into the social media ads and the commercial for the season.

Sketching & Research

Knowing the look for the campaign would be rooted in a mid-century modern space, my research began with looking at lots of art and decor from that period. A big influence for the chosen concept came from falling down a rabbit hole looking at stained glass florals. With that jumping-off point, I incorporated smoother lines, symmetry, and bright colors to create a fresh take on a mid-century modern look.

Application Approach

With the chosen window displays as our North Star, we pulled colors and graphic elements into corresponding advertisements for the campaign. Huck Yeah also contributed to the art direction, concepting, and script for the Mother's Day 2023 commercial.

Printed Window Assets

To ensure success when sending the window elements to the printer I created detailed color renderings of each graphic, including sizing and color breakdowns, to ensure consistency and accuracy when translating the colors to achieve the stained-glass look.

The bright florals and playful shapes, introduce a modern take on mid-century modern aesthetics. Not only did we create a cohesive, eye-catching, and uplifting look that translates across digital and printed media, but the campaign created a welcoming energy that resonates across age groups and invited window shoppers into the Ben Bridge stores to find that special gift for mom.
